The storm blew in so quickly it caught us off guard.  We have had such a drought situation that rain was a word only whispered and remembered from another time in another decade or another universe. North Texas is in extreme drought. As the storm broke mid afternoon the thunder roared and the rain blew out of the southeast almost diagonally like millions of sharp arrows hitting the two story windows in our family room.

The storm lasted about 90 minutes before it lessened and began to dissipate.  I knew I felt like painting and hurried into the studio just as the four o'clock afternoon sun broke through the clouds and the entire yard was filled with vivid colors from the garden, the roses and the green lawn.

The inspiration ended up here. The canvas began with a layer of pink, white and purple.  The secondary, third and fourth layers began to pile with colors that enriched the surface. From there the emergence of the ponies in the colors. Enjoy... I know we enjoyed the rain.

“‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord. Leviticus 19:18
